Riyadh appeals to people from all sectors of life. The area of Riyadh was once a small oasis popular for date gardens. The area started growing in the early 20th century and developed rapidly to become the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Today Riyadh is a modern metropolis that offers its residents and visitors with the best facilities. Despite the development, Riyadh still maintains its dignity and its essence of being the heart of Saudi Arabia.
Most of the streets and avenues in Riyadh are lined with date palms and shaded trees. In the surroundings of Riyadh, visitors can get the opportunity of seeing original wadis. When visiting the attractions in Riyadh visitors should keep in mind that most of the attractions remain closed on weekends (Thursday and Friday) and there are different timings for families and men. The National Museum and the Masmak Fortress are among the most visited attractions in the city.
For shoppers Riyadh offers some excellent opportunities. There are numerous shopping malls all around the city where visitors can find all types of items.
