Bophut is a beautiful fishermens' village located on the Northern coast of the island of KoSamui. The area is known for the Bophut Beach which extends over a few kilometres from Big Buddha Beach to the Maenam Beach. It is one of the hidden treasures of KoSamui. Bophut also comprises of a large district that encompasses Chaweng and the surroundings areas. For Muslim visitors Bophut offers a few halal facilities. The area of Bophut retains its Sino-Thai ambiance and is a wonderful place to sit back and relax. There are several ancient structures all around Bophut Village that attract the attention of visitors. Most of these ancient houses have now been converted into shops selling local items and handicrafts.
Bophut boasts a beautiful beach by the name of Bophut Beach which is serene and calming. The beach is good for families and couples and is not as commercialized as the Chaweng Beach. Even though a lot of new construction has been done around the area, Bophut retains its old world charm. Bophut has a few dive shops that take visitors to the most exciting diving sites around KoSamui, Ang Thong Marine Park, Sail Rock and Koh Tao Island. There is also a go-karting arena just a few minutes away from Bophut Beach where visitors can enjoy some fun family time. Bohput Beach is famed for its sunsets, which are worth seeing.
The Samui Crocodile Farm in Bophut is one of the popular attractions around the area. Different types of crocodiles and reptiles can be seen residing in their natural habitat here.

The Bophut Plaza is a must-visit place for those who wish to enjoy an authentic shopping experience. There are several shops around the area that offer a variety of handicrafts and local items worth buying. Bophut is also known for hosting the Friday Walking Market.
The KoSamui Airport is the nearest airport to Bophut. The airport is at a 15 minutes’ drive from the village. Buses and taxis are available from the airport to Bophut.
There are a few halal restaurants in Bohput where visitors can relish local Thai cuisine. The Kohinoor Indian Restaurant claims to serve halal food. There are a few halal outlets just a few minutes from the village around the Chaweng Beach area that serve halal food.
The only mosque in KoSamui is the Masjid Nurulihsan around 15-20 minutes away from Bophut.
