Aonang Beach spans one of the most popular areas of Krabi, and is one of its prime beaches. It is one of the busiest and popular areas of the province and is within easy reach of several restaurants and hotels. For Muslim visitors the Aonang Beach offers a good number of halal facilities.
Aonang Beach is best known for its scenic views and is ideal for families, and even though the beach features a night life, it is quite low key. Aonang Beach is dotted with limestone cliffs and offers some secluded places where visitors can relax and enjoy the views in private.
One part of the beach from where the road turns inland, the beach is reserved for swimming and sunbathing. The beach is accessible by the public and there are several diving centers where visitors can get trained and head for a diving session.
There are also several other beaches in the surroundings of Aonang Beach that are quieter and secluded. These include Hat Nopphara Thara, Railay Beach, Ko Poda Beach and Ko Hong Beach.There are several interesting activities that visitors can enjoy around the Aonang Beach which include Thai cooking classes, elephant rides, fishing, speedboat tours, kayaking, etc. The Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park is not far from the Aonang Beach and well worth a visit. The closest airport to the Aonang Beach is the Krabi International Airport. The airport is around 40 minutes from Aonang. There are bus services available from the airport to the Aonang Beach. Time taken for the journey is around 1 hour and the charge is approximately 150 baht. Taxis and limos are also available from the airport to the beach, however they can be expensive.
