Sorrento is a beautiful town surrounded by scenic limestone mountains. The beauty of the area has been the same since ancient times. Sorrento was a favourite holiday destination among the royals and aristocrats during the Roman times. There are a number of attractions in Sorrento that are good to visit. The town spreads around the Bay of Naples giving visitors an opportunity to enjoy the beaches and the clear turquoise waters. The Marina Grande and the Marina Piccola are the two best places to enjoy the Bay of Naples.
There are also a few museums in the city that are good to visit. These museums include the Archaeological Museum of the Sorrentine Peninsula and the Museo Correale di Terranova, which houses beautiful art work. The Museo Bottega della Tasia Lignea also has a good art collection. The Puntacampanella Natural Reserve is a great place to visit. Visitors can take a trip to the Capri Island, which is worth visiting. There are a number of parks and gardens in Sorrento that are good to visit.
Sorrento has some good shops in the historic city center where visitors can find leather good and fashion clothing and accessories. Sorrento is also famous for its wood art and craft items. The town has a thriving wood industry. Around the Piazza Tasso there are several shops where visitors will love to visit.
The nearest airport to Sorrento is the Naples Airport. There are regular buses that depart from the airport to Sorrento. Buses depart six times daily from the airport. Visitors can also take taxis to reach Sorrento.
Finding halal restaurants in Sorrento can be difficult. However visitors can find a few vegetarian restaurants in the town like Mondo Bio Cafe and Shop, Ristorante Kalimera, Le Grazie, etc.
