Yokohama is the capital of the Kanagawa Prefecture and one of the largest cities of Japan. The city is quite popular among foreign travellers and features one of the largest Chinatowns. The city is located about half an hour from Tokyo and has its own flavor. The city is comparatively un-crowded and the neighborhoods are quite serene. Whether it is shopping, attractions or dining, Yokohama offers visitors with everything they are looking forward to.
The Chinatown area of Yokohama is a must visit. The Sky Walk is a beautiful observation platform connected to the Bay Bridge. The Landmark Tower in Yokohama is one of the tallest buildings in Japan. Yokohama also has several green spaces and some good amusement parks. Some of the best amusement parks in the city are the Yokohama Cosmo World, Hakkeijima Seaparadise and the Nissan Water Park. The Yokohama History Museum is also an interesting place to visit.
For shopping lovers, Yokohama offers a good range of shopping malls and streets. Minato Mirai 21 is a bustling city district that offers a large number of shopping options. Other good places to shop include the Diamond Underground Shopping Arcade, Yokohama Bay Quarter, Yodobashi Yokohama, Isezaki Mall Shopping Street, etc.
Yokohama does not have any airport; the nearest airport to the city is the Tokyo International Airport or the Haneda Airport. The airport is located about 17Km from Yokohama. From the Haneda Airport visitors can take the Keikyu Line's Airport Expresswhich travels to the Yokohama Station and takes about 30 minutes. A one-way ticket takes about 470 Yen.
The Narita Airport is located about 76Km from Yokohama and there are several ANrita Express trains that pass through Yokohama. The train from Narita Airport takes about 1.5 hours and a one-way ticket costs 4380 Yen. There are also limousine buses that leave from the airport to the Yokohama City Air Terminal. The limousine bus takes about 2-3 hours and costs around 3500 Yen.
There are a few halal restaurants in Yokohama where visitors can dine.
