The town of Krabi has come a long way from being a small sleepy town to a lively destination that is visited by thousands of visitors every year. There are numerous attractions around Krabi Town that can be visited by travellers. The KhaoKhanap Nam is a natural attraction close to Krabi town. The attraction consists of two hills inside which are beautiful caves. Visitors can take a boat ride to reach KhaoKhanap Nam. The viewpoint at Koa NgonNak is a soaring mountain from where complete views of the surrounding can be seen. The area is also good for observing natural wildlife. The viewpoint is located at a height of 500 meters. The Krabi Contemporary Art Museum is a beautiful museum that preserves contemporary art work of the local artists. The mangrove forests around KhaoKhanab Nam and Krabi bay are good for exploring. Shopping in Krabi is quite affordable. There are two local markets hosted in the town including the KrabiMaharat Market. During the weekends the Walking Street Market is worth shopping at. Close to the airport are the Tesco Lotus Shopping Mall and the Big C where visitors can find a variety of items.
The Krabi town is around 15 minutes away from the Krabi International Airport. A/C buses are available from the airport to the town and costa round 90 baht. Songthaews(share taxis) are available from the Krabi town to the airport and cost around 30-50 baht. If visitors wish to catch Songthaews from the airport they will have to walk out of the airport to the main road.
