Another attraction that the town is famous for is the pre-Roman Lycianruins.
The Lycian sarcophagus is stone sarcophagi carved in traditional Lycian style. The best preserved Lycian sarcophagus can be seen at the governor’s office in the center of the town.There are a few other cave tombs located on the side of a cliff at the southern end of the town.
The beach at Fethiyeis amazing and there are several activities that visitors can enjoy. The waters around the beach are calm and excellent for swimmingand canoeing. Other activities that can be enjoyed in the area include parasailing and para-gliding. Fethiye serves as the starting point for the walking trail of Lycian Way.
It is a 500 Km long marked train that runs till Antalya. There are several island day cruises that leave from Fethiye and take visitors to different islands off the coast.
