Description

Chengdu is a beautiful city with a relaxed atmosphere. The city is steeped in history and is abundant in attractions. Whether it is historical or modern attractions, Chengdu offers several interesting places to visit and see. Chengdu is located in the Sichuan Basin and features a pleasant climate. The city has a number of parks and museums that are good to visit. The Sichuan Science and Technology Museumis filled with several interesting exhibits.
To get a glimpse of the city’s history, a visit to the Jinli Ancient Street is recommended. It is located close to the old city of Chengdu and has several old-fashioned stored and tea stalls. The Jinsha Archaeological Site has several artistic pieces and ancient artefacts that have been excavated from the area. The People’s Park and the Chengdu Zoo also make good places to visit in the city. The Tianfu Square is the main square of the city which is surrounded by numerous cafes. The highlight of the square is the water show that is displayed in the afternoon and evening every day.
There are several places to shop in Chengdu. The Chunxi Road area, the Lotus Wholesale Market and the Wuhou Tibetan Area shops are places where you can find some good deals on handicrafts and other items. There are also several shopping malls in the city like the Galleria, an international level shopping mall.

Nearby Airports

The city is served by the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. It is located about 20 Km from the city center and is also one of the main airports of China. There is a bus that runs from the airport to the city center and costs around 10CNY. The bus runs at regular intervals until 1 AM. Taxis are also available from the airport to the city center and cost 45 CNY for a one-way trip.

There are a number of halal restaurants in Chengdu that serve authentic Chinese cuisine. Some of the best halal restaurants in the city include the Huangcheng Islam Restaurant, Tianfanglou Restaurant, Huangcheng Restaurant, Huitangchun Restaurant, Yuexiangcun Restaurant, etc.

Mosques

There are quite a number of mosques in Chengdu. The main mosque in Chengdu is the Chengdu Huangcheng Mosque. It is also one of the most well-known and prominent mosques in southwest China. The other mosques in and around Chengdu include Chengdu Guloujie Mosque, Chengdu Jiangnan Mosque, Chengdu West Mosque, Chengdu Jiusixiang Mosque, Chengdu East Mosque and the Chengdu Tuqiao Mosque.
