Cat Ba is a large island located in the Ha Long Bay. Located along the northern coast of Vietnam, Cat Ba is a prime attraction for visitors to Vietnam. Cat Ba offers a laidback atmosphere and becomes a hotspot during the weekends. The national park and the water sports are the main attractions for visitors to Cat Ba. The national park covers both marine and land area and is home to several species of flora and fauna including the endangered Cat Ba langur.
The beaches around Cat Ba are quite popular and excellent for enjoyment. There are several boats that make frequent trips to the Monkey Island. There are several monkeys on the island and hence the name. About 2Km from the Cat Ba Town is the Cannon Fort from where visitors can get amazing views of the Lan Ha Bay. The island is surrounded by beautiful limestone karsts which can easily be scaled. There are several waterfalls, lakes and underground streams that can be seen around the limestone hills.

The nearest major airport to Cat Ba is the Noi Bai Airport located in Hanoi. From the airport visitors can take buses to the Hanoi Long Bien Station and from there they can take a train to Hai Phong. From Hai Phong there are ferries leaving 4 times every day to Cat Ba. From Hai Phong it takes about 50 minutes to reach Cat Ba.
