The town of Sölden is largely a mile long busy road which is surrounded by restaurants, clubs and hotels. Sölden is divided by a river; the busy part is under the mountains whereas the quieter part is located on the other side. Another part of the area Hochsölden features a series of hotels for skiers. Skiing is an all year round activity in the area all thanks to the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers.
There are numerous ski lifts in the area that connect the slopes. Apart from the glaciers there is more the Sölden has to offer; the Big 3 mountains namely Schwarze Schneid, Tiefenbachkogl and Gaislachkogl. These three peaks are connected by cable cars and excellent for advanced skiers who love challenges.
There are some good shops on the main strip of Sölden where visitors can find items of basic necessities and several other good things to buy.
The nearest airport to Sölden is the Innsbruck airport, which is about 85 Km away. It takes about 1hour and 15 minutes to reach Sölden from Innsbruck. Visitors can take taxis or book car rentals from Innsbruck airport to Sölden.
