Description

Coimbra is one of the most popular cities in Portugal. The city has several Roman remains and gardens around the Mondego River. From ancient universities to historic attractions, the city offers a number of things to see and do. A cruise along the Mondego River is recommended. The city also has some good museums worth visiting like the Machado de Castro National Museum and the Museum of Science.

The nearest airport to Coimbra is the Francisco Sa Carneiro Airport in Porto. From the Proto Airport visitors can take taxis or cars to reach Coimbra. The journey takes about 1 hour. Visitors can also take a train from Porto to Coimbra.
