One of the most popular tourist attractions and a great alternative from the beaches in Puerto Galera is Tamaraw Falls. Located in Barangay Villaflor, a couple of meters off the road, and about 15 kilometers outside Puerto Galera, Tamaraw Falls is a 423 foot natural wonder. Its name is derived from a species of buffalo which can only be found in Oriental Mindoro. For those who have had enough of the beaches in Puerto Galera, this breathtaking sight is a wonderful place to cool off. This idyllic spot is a great place for families and is the perfect destination for a fun day out. It consists of a series of smaller waterfalls that is captured by a man made pool at the bottom. Visitors can cool off in the rock pool or they can relax in the picnic area which can be entered after paying a small fee. There is also a path leading up the mountain that can be explored.

Muslims visiting Tamaraw Falls will not be able to find prayer facilities at the attraction. There is however plenty of open space surrounding the attraction for those who wish to offer their prayers. Muslim tourists could also pray in the picnic area. If unable to find a clean and quiet place to offer their prayers, Muslim visitors will have to pray in their hotel rooms, as Puerto Galera does not have any mosques.
Muslims looking for Halal restaurants in Puerto Galera will find it very difficult to do so. They will however find plenty of restaurants serving suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes. Since Tamaraw Falls has a great picnic area, it is recommended that tourists take along some snacks when visiting the attraction.
