A trip to Cebu City is incomplete without a visit to the Heritage of Cebu Monument, located in the historic Parian District. This tableau of monumental sculptures is made of concrete, steel, bronze and brass, and depicts 500 years of the history of Cebu. It was designed and conceptualized by Eduardo Castrillo, national artist and multi-award winning sculptor, and construction went on from 1997 to 2000. Visitors will come across detailed statues and sculptures and meaningful structures carved into the monument. As the Heritage of Cebu Monument showcases the most significant and most symbolic events in the city’s history, it is one of the best places for tourists to visit.

Muslim tourist will not find prayer facilities at the Heritage of Cebu Monument. They will however be able to offer their prayers in one of the few mosques in the Cebu City, such as Al-Khairiah Mosque or the Green Mosque.
