Rawal Lake, situated by the Rawal Dam, is one of the top attractions of Islamabad and is a great place for family outings. Located in the outskirts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, this artificial reservoir provides water needs to the two cities, and the green area around it is also a popular picnic spot. The lake is located within an isolated section of the Margalla Hills National Park which means that it is surrounded by lush greenery and therefore offers a variety of fun activities for young and old. This stunning area is not only great for picnicking. It is also ideal for hiking, fishing, boating, bird watching and is even great for those looking to just relax and unwind on their own and to watch the beautiful sunset.
