A great place to take the kids when in the city of Islamabad is the Islamabad Zoo. This 82 acre zoo offers a variety of fun things to do and see, making it a great attraction for the entire family. First opened as a means to provide shelter to wild animals, the Islamabad Zoo has now become a popular tourists spot and is known to house over 600 animals and more than 200 bird species, including leopards, elephants, peacocks, deer and more. This wildlife sanctuary is located at the base of Margalla Hills and therefore also makes a fantastic picnic spot as it offers stunning views. It is the ideal place to relax and to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Apart from housing a variety of fascinating wildlife, the Islamabad Zoo also offers some fun rides for young and old, and a few dining outlets.

Prayer Facilities

Since Pakistan is a Muslim country, visitors to the Islamabad Zoo may be able to find prayer facilities within its premises. If unable to do so, they should be able to locate plenty of open area to offer their prayers. There is also sure to be several mosques in the area surrounding the attraction. Muslim visitors can therefore ask to be guided to the nearest mosque when needed.

Halal Food

As mentioned above, the Islamabad Zoo does offer a few dining options. The food served at these outlets is sure to be Halal as Pakistan is a Muslim country. Muslim tourists can therefore dine at any restaurant or café without a worry. Visitors must also make it a point to try out some of Pakistan’s unique dishes from some of the many street food carts.
