Situated in the heart of Cardiff’s spectacular Civic Centre, the National Museum of Cardiff is one of Cardiff’s top attractions. Offering something for everyone, the museum is a great place for the entire family. It houses Wale’s art, archaeology, geology and natural history collections and offers a variety of programs, events and activities. The art collection found here is one of the finest in Europe and alone draws in thousands of visitors from all over the world. The paintings, sculptures and ceramics in the museums’ Art Gallery are incredibly stunning and span five centuries. Another highlight of the museum and a major family favorite is the Evolution of Wales exhibit which takes visitors on a 4,600 million year voyage starting at the Big Bang and features woolly mammoths and dinosaurs. At the Clore Discovery Centre visitors will come across fascinating exhibits featuring Bronze Age weapons, insects, fossils and more. The Natural History galleries allow visitors to explore the diverse natural history of Wales beginning at the seashore and ending in the mountains and woodland. The Marine Gallery has displays on the world's largest Leatherback Turtle and even showcases the skeleton of a huge Humpback Whale. The National Museum of Cardiff is also known to house major touring and temporary exhibitions.

Although finding prayer facilities at the National Museum Cardiff will not be possible, Muslim visitors will be able to locate a couple of mosques and Islamic Centers in the city of Cardiff, due to the sizeable population of Muslims residing in the city. The South Wales Islamic Centre, Bilal Jamia Masjid, Jalalia Mosque, Madina Mosque and Al-Manar Islamic Centre are a few of the several mosques in Cardiff.
The National Museum Cardiff has a coffee shop and a restaurant, namely the Oriel Restaurant. Although the food served at both outlets will not be Halal certified, Muslim visitors will definitely be able to find suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes on the menu. Also, Muslim tourists will be able to find Halal restaurants in the city of Cardiff without much of a problem.
