Visitors to Bristol must make it a point to visit the SS Great Britain, the world’s first great ocean liner and the city’s main attraction. Designed and built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in 1843, this iconic steam ship takes visitors back in time. Having been built originally as a luxury transatlantic liner, the massive ship fell into disrepair, until it was rescued from its state of wreckage and restored back to its former glory. Today berthed and preserved in the great western dockyard, the magnificent ocean liner offers visitors the opportunity to explore the stories from the past of this grand vessel, from its opulent first class to the rather more cramped cooks’ galley. The “glass sea” on which the ship sits, is definitely one of the unique and notable features that allow visitors the opportunity to view the screw propeller. The SS Great Britain has something fun for all ages and is a definite must-visit when in Bristol.

Although Muslim tourists will not find prayer facilities within the SS Great Britain, they will be able to locate prayer facilities in the city of Bristol, as it is known to house a number of mosques that are frequented by both locals and tourists alike. Muslim tourists could ask the locals to direct them to a nearby mosque when necessary.
While visitors could get a bite to eat at the Dockyard Café located alongside the SS Great Britain, Muslim visitors may not find this establishment to be Halal certified. Although Muslim tourists will find vegetarian options here, Muslims looking specifically for Halal cuisine will have to visit one of the many Halal restaurants in the city of Bristol.
