The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is one of the top 10 museums in the country and is Tucson's star attraction. A zoo, natural history museum, and botanical garden all combined, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is spread across 21 acres and offers a detailed look at various desert habitats and landscapes. With two miles of walking paths and 16 individual gardens; home to 1,200 plants native to the Sonoran Desert to explore, the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum is an absolutely must-visit attraction when in Tucson. While wandering along the two mile long pathways, visitors will come across endangered species like the Mexican wolf, jaguarundi, bonytail chub, razorback sucker, ocelot, margay and even thick-billed parrot, in addition to black bears, roadrunners, coyote, javelinas, river otters and more. They will also come across the Cactus Garden, Cat Canyon, Hummingbird Aviary and Walk-in Aviary amongst others. The museum also has a comprehensive collection of gems, minerals, and fossils on display.

Prayer Facilities

Finding prayer facilities at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum will not be possible. Muslim visitors may be able to locate a clean and quiet place outdoors to offer their prayers, or they can visit one of the few mosques and Islamic Centers in Tucson, such as Mosque Yousuf and the Islamic Center of Tucson. 

Halal Food

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum has a small picnic area, as well as a couple of restaurants, a coffee bar and an ice cream shop. While the food served here will not be Halal certified, Muslim visitors can dine on suitable vegetarian and seafood dishes. There are also a few Halal restaurants in the city of Tucson for those looking specifically for Halal certified food.
