Nestled in Boston’s historic Franklin Park, the Franklin Park Zoo offers a truly unforgettable experience for the entire family. Spread across 72 acres, the Franklin Park Zoo is home to over 220 species of animals as well as to numerous fascinating exhibits, such as Aussie Aviary, Bird’s World, Butterfly Landing, Children’s Zoo, Franklin Farm, Giraffe Savannah, Kalahari Kingdom, Little Critters, Outback Trail and Tropical Forest. At the Tropical Forest, visitors will see western lowland gorillas at play, as well as lemurs, ocelots, Baird’s tapirs, mandrills and capybara from five glass viewing stations. Kids will definitely enjoy a visit to Franklin Farm where they will be able to pet a variety of common farm animals. Kalahari Kingdom offers visitors a chance to see majestic lions in their own habitat, up close and personal. Other must-visit exhibits include Outback Trail, Giraffe Savannah and Butterfly Landing. The Franklin Park Zoo also offers train, carousel safari jeep rides, as well as a fun playground for kids.

Visitors to the Franklin Park Zoo will not be able to find prayer facilities. They can either find a clean and quiet place within the park to offer their prayers, or they will have to make use of the facilities offered at one of the many mosques in Boston, such as the Islamic Center of Boston and Masjid Al Noor.
Giddy-Up Grill and Kalahari Kitchen; located within the Franklin Park Zoo, offer a variety of delicious food items for kids and adults. There are also numerous snack stands conveniently located throughout the zoo. The food served at any of these outlets will not be Halal certified, Muslim visitors can therefore either dine on suitable seafood and vegetarian dishes or they can also take along some snacks, as the zoo has several picnic areas.
