The Biosphere Plaza Shopping Center occupies an area of 25,000 square meters and is considered to be the largest shopping mall in Lanzarote. This 5 storey shopping complex, overlooking the Old Town of Puerto del Carmen houses a wide range of retail outlets, restaurants and entertainment areas and is definitely worth a visit when in the city. Tourists wanting to indulge in some retail therapy will find numerous stores selling a variety of products, ranging from designer clothing to electronic items. Aside from the fantastic shopping, tourists will find plenty of activities to keep them and their kids entertained. Since the mall has a number of food outlets, shoppers can take a break from shopping and tuck into a delicious meal while at the mall.

Prayer Facilities

Muslim tourists visiting the Biosphere Plaza Shopping Center will not find prayer facilities within its premises. Those requiring prayer facilities while at the mall will have to return to their hotel room at prayer times since the city of Puerto del Carmen is not known to house a mosque or Islamic Center.

Halal Food

As mentioned above, the Biosphere Plaza Shopping Center is home to a number of restaurants. Muslim tourist looking for Halal cuisine will however find that these restaurants are not Halal certified. Since Puerto Del Carmen is not known to house any Halal restaurants, Muslim visitors will have to dine on the vegetarian or seafood options available.
