A trip to the city of Valencia is not complete without a visit to its 10 hectare zoo; the Bioparc Valencia. Located on the bed of River Turia, in Parque de Cabecera, the Bioparc Valencia is a modern zoo that employs the concept of zoo-immersion and focuses on education and conservation of animals. When entering the zoo, visitors are completely immersed into the habitats of the wild animals found here. There are no cages or enclosures, thus making visitors feel like they are in the wild. Visitors will get the opportunity to get up close and personal with leopards, lions, giraffes, gorillas and numerous other animals. The zoo is home to over 4000 animals and is divided into the African Savannah, Equatorial Africa and Madagascar. It is also full of natural areas that are ideal for relaxing.
