When in Hyderabad, a visit to the historic Golconda Fort complex is a must. Considered to be one of the greatest architectural wonders of Hyderabad, the ancient Golconda Fort complex consists of four distinct forts and is spread across four kilometres. Inside the fort visitors will find four drawbridges, numerous private chambers and halls, stables, mosques and more. This famous Indian fort is also known for its magical acoustic system. A hand clap at a certain point below the dome at the entrance can be heard almost a kilometre away, at the highest point of the pavilion. Visitors must tour the entire complex and explore the past glories of Golconda Fort. They must also make it a point to take a stroll through the fort’s former gardens. Every day in the evening, 6:30pm onwards, there is a sound and light show narrated in Amitabh Bachchan's voice that is highly recommended for all tourists.

Even though visitors will come across ruins of what used to be mosques, there are no known functioning prayer facilities inside the Golconda Fort complex. Muslim tourists will therefore have to make use of the prayer facilities offered at one of the many mosques found in the city of Hyderabad.
The city of Hyderabad is home to quite a number of Halal restaurants and food carts and stalls which suit any taste and budget. Muslims visiting the Golconda Fort complex can therefore ask to be directed to the most popular Halal restaurant in the city. Tourists must try out some of Hyderabad’s famous biryani when in the city.
