The Kuwait Scientific Center, located in a sail-shaped building on the Corniche, in Salmiya is an educational facility that is said to be home to the largest aquarium in the Middle East. The Scientific Center also houses the Discovery Place, the Dhow Harbour and an IMAX Theater. Visitors to the center will find some of the most exciting marine life; including species like sting rays and reef sharks, and beautiful natural sea habitats, in the aquarium, along with displays on animals and plants. Those visiting the center will also be able to watch the sharks and rays been fed and even join experienced divers in the massive shark tanks. The Discovery Place is an interactive learning centre where kids are expected to learn about science through fun, interactive activities. Visitors can also watch 3D educational and documentary films in the IMAX Theater, or visit the Dhow Harbour; where they will come across the last surviving sailing ship of the pre-oil era. There is also a gift shop where visitors will be able to find a variety of memorabilia, gifts and stationery.

Since Kuwait is a pre dominantly Muslim country, there are numerous mosques and prayer facilities available. Muslims visiting the Kuwait Scientific Center will therefore be able to find a prayer room. Facilities should be available for men as well as women. If unable to locate it, visitors are instructed to ask the staff to direct them.
The Kuwait Scientific Center does have restaurants at which Muslim visitors will be able to find Halal food. Muslim tourists will be pleased to know that all restaurants in Kuwait are in fact Halal, since pork and alcohol are not allowed in the country. Muslims visiting the country will therefore be able to dine at any restaurant without a worry.
