Jardin botanique, a municipal garden located at Place Bardineau, is a wonderful place to visit when holidaying in Bordeaux. It offers visitors a chance to relax and enjoy a different part of the city and takes them away from their hectic sightseeing schedule. This beautiful landscaped garden originated in 1629, however today’s botanical garden dates back to 1855 and houses over 3000 plants species. The garden is laid out in the English style and contains exotic plants from America, China and Japan. Visiting the picturesque garden is a great way to get some fresh air, and strolling through these beautifully landscaped gardens is sure to be a lovely and refreshing way to spend a few hours in the city of Bordeaux.

While Muslim visitors will not be able to find prayer facilities at the Jardin botanique de Bordeaux, the city of Bordeaux is home to a number of mosques. Muslim tourists are therefore advised to ask the locals for directions to the closest mosque to the botanical garden. Or, they can find a quiet, empty space in the garden to offer their prayers.
The botanical garden is not known to house a Halal restaurant; however Muslim visitors looking for Halal food in the city of Bordeaux will be able to locate Halal restaurants without much difficulty, as the city is home to quite a few Halal outlets. Those who are unable to locate these restaurants could dine on vegetarian or seafood dishes, or make inquiries at the mosque.
