A trip to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, or simply Chamonix, is not complete without a ride on the highest cable car in Europe – the Aiguille du Midi Cable Car. The cable car is possibly one of the very few attractions in Chamonix that does not involve skiing. The unique two stage journey takes visitors from the centre of the town of Chamonix to Plan de l'Aiguille; which is at 2,300 metres, and then past the Les Pelerins glacier before reaching Aiguille du Midi. The ride takes about 20 minutes, after which visitors reach a height of 3,842 metres. The stunning, panoramic views from the terraces at the station on top are unparalleled and are experienced by thousands of visitors each yeah. From the top, visitors will get to see the world renowned Matterhorn, as well as neighboring Italy, along with a fantastic view of Mont Blanc. At the summit, there is a restaurant and gift shop, so visitors can get a bite to eat, or find a souvenir to take back home.

There are no known mosques or prayer facilities in the resort town of Chamonix. Muslim visitors will therefore have to offer their prayers in the hotel room, or will have to find a quiet place to offer their prayers, when exploring the area. They will also not be able to find prayer facilities when at the top of Aiguille du Midi. While there is plenty of open space for Muslim to offer their prayers, they must remember that the mountain is covered in snow and therefore praying here will not be easy.
The town of Chamonix also does not have any Halal restaurants. Even though visitor will find a restaurant on the peak of Aiguille du Midi, this restaurant will not serve Halal food. Muslim tourists will however be able to dine on seafood and vegetarian dishes here. They will have to first ensure that the items they order do not consist of any non-Halal ingredients.
