The beautiful Waimarama Beach is one of the most popular beaches in the country and is loved for its pristine shores, bright sunshine and clear blue skies. Being just 20 minutes away from Havelock North, Waimarama Beach is one of the main beaches along the East Coast and is a very popular spot for surfing, swimming, jogging and fishing. An abundance of pipi can be found at the beach area, in addition to numbers of flounders, crayfish and paua which swim close to the water's edge. The beach is a popular weekend spot and picnic venue amongst locals and offers the perfect peaceful atmosphere to simply sit back and unwind. The beach's golden sandy shores and tranquil ambience will undoubtedly captivate any type of traveller - beach lovers in particular.

Though designated prayer facilities at Waimarama Beach will be unavailable for Muslim travellers, plenty of private area will be available around the beach area to use during prayer times.
