One of Christchurch's most prominent tourist attractions, International Antarctic Centre is located in the Harewood suburb of Christchurch, a short distance away from the Christchurch Airport. The International Antarctic Centre offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience an authentic Antarctic atmosphere with heaps of fun and excitement. Visitors will be taught how to survive an Antarctic snow storm, interact with little blue penguins as well as live a modern-day Antarctic life. Other highlights at the International Antarctic Centre include the Hagglund ride, simulated 4D cruise and Happy Feet 4D. International Antarctic Centre is one of New Zealand's most famous award-winning tourist attractions and was also twice named the best attraction in the country.
