The Dry Sea Meadow is a popular travel resort in Lijiang and is located about 25 kilometres away from Lijiang Old Town. The meadow is enclosed by spectacular hilly landscapes on all sides and is also home to number of several minority villages. Dry Sea Meadow itself was formed somewhere in the 1940s when a highland glacial lake dried up and, at present, is particularly scenic during the sunnier days of the summer season. Visitors may also be able to note herds of livestock such as cattle, goats, sheep and yak grazing in the meadow. It is must-visit spot for outdoor enthusiasts ad well as photography lovers while sight-seeing in Lijiang.
