Being a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Old Town of Lijiang is located within the city of Lijiang in Yuannan, China. The history of the town dates back over 800 years back in time when it was a prominent town for trade. The old town is home to ethnic minorities and a diversity of cultures. The entire town area spans across an area of over 900 acres and was first established during the early Yuan Dynasty. Stretches of mountain ranges and streams are also located around the town area and provide spectacular views. The beautiful natural scenery and the rich historical background of the Old Town of Lijiang make it a must-visit spot when sight-seeing in Lijiang.

For prayer facilities at Old Town of Lijiang, Muslim travellers could visit the Lijiang Great Mosque – which is the only mosque in the city and is located within the Lijiang Old Town. The mosque is a prominent landmark in the city and is well worth a visit.
Though several eateries will be available in the old town area, access to Halal food may be limited. It is possible to enquire at the Lijiang Great Mosque for some of the nearest Halal restaurants in the area or visit some of the Halal restaurants and eateries in the city. Haji Beef Restaurant and the Muslim Ya Yuan are two of the best Halal restaurants in Lijiang.
