Being the most famed hill in the region, Green Lotus Peak is a prominent landmark in the country as well as a popular tourist attraction. It is located towards the south of Yangshuo and is also known by a number of other names such as Bilian Peak, Shouyang Mountain and Jianshan Hill - which was its original name. Several legends are associated with Green Lotus Peak and the area also features a number of pavilions, stone carvings on cliffs and steles that are scattered around. The entire Green Lotus Peak region is famed for its breathtaking scenery and will be a haven for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts. The area is particularly scenic during sunrise, when the sky comes to life amidst a cloud of mist.

Though designated prayer room facilities at Green Lotus Peak will be unavailable, plenty of open space is available in the area to make use of during prayer times. Muslim travellers will also have to keep in mind that there are no mosques in Yangshuo and the nearest mosques are in the city of Guilin, about 80 kilometres away.
Halal food near Green Lotus Peak will be unavailable, but it is possible to opt for Halal food at some of the Halal restaurants in Yangshuo. The Halal noodle shop located outside the bus stand in the city is a popular Halal food spot in Yangshuo. Travellers may also opt for vegetarian cuisine at some of the local restaurants in the city but it is recommended to enquire about how food is prepared prior to dining.
