The Qibao Ancient Town is positioned in the heart of the Minhang District of Shanghai and is located about 20 kilometres away from the downtown area. With the name "Qibao" translating to 'seven treasures' in Chinese, the history of the town dates back to the Northern Song Dynasty during 960-1126, when the town was first built. Some of the highlights of the city include the centuries-old Qibao Temple and the Qibao Shadow Play which reflects a fascinating form of traditional Chinese art. Visitors to Qibao Ancient Town will also be offered a wealth of shopping opportunities, in addition to the numerous other attractions and places-of-interest in the town. The area is a prominent tourist attraction in Minhang and is flocked by tourists and travellers throughout the year.
