Located in the heart of the city is the main shopping street in Cork, St. Patrick's Street. Known to be one of Ireland's best shopping streets, this shopper’s paradise is home to a variety of notable shops, boutiques and department stores, as well as restaurants and cafés. Stores that can be found here include Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, Brown Thomas and Penneys. Even if tourists do not wish to shop when in Cork, a stroll down this popular street is an absolute must. A favorite amongst locals, and a meeting spot, this street is also the ideal place to go to people watch.

Muslims visiting Cork will be able to find a few mosques and Islamic Centers in the city, due to its sizeable Muslim population. Some well-known mosques include the Cork Mosque and the mosque at the Cork Muslim Foundation. While exploring St. Patrick's Street, Muslim tourists could therefore ask to be directed to the nearest mosque when needed.
St. Patrick's Street is home to quite a few cafés and restaurants. Muslim tourists will however not be able to find any Halal certified dining establishments here. They will therefore have to dine on suitable seafood or vegetarian dishes, or they can visit one of the few Halal restaurants in the city of Cork.
