Jardim Público de Évora

Description

The ideal place to take a break after visiting some of Évora’s historical sites is the Jardim Público de Évora or the Public Garden of Évora. Filled with a wide variety of greenery and lakes, this beautiful garden is a favorite amongst locals and tourists alike, and is great for kids and adults. The park also has a few cultural monuments like the remains of the walls of the Palácio D. Manuel, inside of which is the Galeria das Damas. Visitors can enjoy a lovely meal at the small outdoor café located here, or they can bring along some snacks, as the park is ideal for picnicking.

Prayer Facilities

Muslim tourists will not be able to find prayer facilities at the Jardim Público de Évora. They should however be able to locate a clean and quiet area within the park to offer their prayers. They could also visit the only mosque in the city of Évora, the Islamic Place of Worship of Évora.  

Halal Food

As mentioned above, the Jardim Público de Évora does have a small café. Muslim visitors will have to dine on suitable seafood and vegetarian dishes here, as non-Halal ingredients are sure to be used in most dishes. There also no known Halal restaurants in the city of Évora. Muslim tourists can get more information regarding the availability of Halal food at the local mosque.
