The Science Museum of the University of Coimbra is a must-visit attraction when in the city. This interactive museum offers a variety of fun yet educational things to do and see, making it the ideal attraction for families. The Science Museum features a historical collection of scientific objects and instruments and also has a variety of state of the art, hands-on experiments and displays; which can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, as well as a number of fascinating exhibits. It also presents several temporary exhibits and workshops. While the scientific collections found here are the oldest and most important in Portugal, the building that the museum is housed in is also quite noteworthy for its impressive neo-classic architecture.

The scientific collections
Finding prayer facilities at the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra will not be possible. Muslim visitors will however be able to make use of the facilities offered at the only known mosque in the city of Coimbra; the Mesquita de Coimbra. Muslim tourists can therefore ask staff at the museum to direct them to this mosque when needed.
The Science Museum of the University of Coimbra does have a cafeteria. Visitors to the museum will be able to find a variety of delicious food items on the menu, but Muslim visitors will have to dine on suitable seafood and vegetarian dishes, as non-Halal ingredients are sure to be used. There are also no known Halal restaurants in the city of Coimbra.
