When visiting the city of Coimbra with kids, the Portugal dos Pequenitos is an absolute must-visit. Said to have been the first theme park in Portugal, the Portugal dos Pequenitos is an attraction like no other. This educational playground allows visitors of all ages to spend an enjoyable day learning about the people of Portugal, along with its history and culture. Essentially a miniature world, the Portugal dos Pequenitos features a number of the country's most important buildings, houses and monuments, in miniature form; including a replica of the 16th century House of Diamonds from Lisbon, the Convento de Cristo in Tomar, and so on. The park also houses several museums, including a costume museum, a furniture museum and one featuring marine life; all of which are also in miniature. Also found at the park are a children’s play area, a gift shop and a café.

The Portugal dos Pequenitos does not have prayer facilities for Muslim visitors. Muslims visiting the park may however be able to find a secluded place outdoors to offer their prayers. If unable to do so, they could visit the only known mosque in the city of Coimbra; the Mesquita de Coimbra.
As mentioned above, the Portugal dos Pequenitos does house a café. Visitors to the park will be able to find a variety of delicious food items on the menu, but Muslim visitors will have to dine on suitable seafood and vegetarian dishes, as non-Halal ingredients are sure to be used. There are also no known Halal restaurants in the city of Coimbra.
