Albuferia is known to have some great beaches, such as Fisherman's Beach or Praia dos Pescadores. Situated in front of Albufeira's Old Town, this beautiful beach is frequented by locals as well as tourists. It was once the spot where Albufeira’s fishermen would launch their boats into the water, and this is what it gets its name from. It features soft golden sand and clear azure water and is thus popular amongst those looking to catch some sun and relax, and also with water sports enthusiasts. Along the beachfront there are numerous fantastic seafood cafés and restaurants for those looking to get a bite to eat after a fun day out.

Prayer Facilities

Finding prayer facilities at Fisherman's Beach will not be possible. Muslims visiting during off peak season will however be able to find a secluded place on the beach to offer their prayers. If unable to do so, they could make use of the facilities offered at the one known mosque in the city; the Albufeira Mosque.

Halal Food

As mentioned above, Fisherman's Beach has a variety of fantastic seafood restaurants and cafés for visitors to choose from. While dining at these outlets, Muslim visitors must make sure the dishes they order only consist of Halal ingredients, as non-Halal ingredients are widely used. Muslim tourists may also be able to find a couple of restaurants in Albufeira which serve Halal dishes on request.
