Description

When in the town of Zell am See, it is quite hard to miss Mount Schmittenhöhe as it is located at the town center. This 2,000 metre high mountain is one of the charming town’s top attractions. It offers diverse activities during winter and summer, and there is a lot to explore. During winter, the Schmittenhöhe offers visitors the ultimate skiing experience; with its countless ski slopes, and in the summer, the mountain is ideal for hiking and climbing expeditions and boasts a variety of trails. The Schmittenhöhe also offers a variety of other activities for the entire family, and is therefore the ideal destination for vacations all year round. It is known for being surrounded by beautiful landscapes and is incredibly picturesque. Those visiting the attraction will also come across a variety of art pieces, objects and sculptures which are placed throughout the mountain landscape. Visitors can either hike up the mountain, or they can make use of the cable car found here.

Prayer Facilities

While there are no prayer facilities for Muslims visiting Mount Schmittenhöhe, this is a small mosque in the town of Zell am See. Muslim visitors can therefore either ask to be guided to this mosque, or they can try to locate a secluded place on the mountain, to offer their prayers.  

Halal Food

Visitors to Mount Schmittenhöhe will be able to find numerous cafés and restaurants. These dining establishments are however sure to serve non-Halal items. Muslim visitors can therefore either dine on seafood and vegetarian dishes at these outlets, or they can visit one of the few Halal restaurants in Zell am See town.
