A trip to Salzburg is definitely incomplete without a visit to its Old Town. This designated World Heritage site is located between magnificent mountains and the Salzach River. Known for its beautiful Baroque elements, the city center is a must-visit for all tourists. It is home to charming, narrow streets and squares, the Salzburg Cathedral, the Mirabell Palace and Gardens, the Hohensalzburg Fortress, the Salzburg Residenz, designer stores and boutiques, restaurants and cafés and numerous other places of interest. They will also come across the birthplace and residence of Salzburg’s most famous son; Mozart. Visitors must therefore make it a point to take a stroll through the Old Town’s narrow streets and explore the numerous sights and attractions found here, for an experience like no other.

The city of Salzburg is known to be home to quite a number of mosques and Islamic Centres. Some prominent prayer facilities in the city include the Salzburg Moschee, the Islamic Cultural Association in Salzburg, Krems Moschee and Türkischer Kulturverein Selimiye. Muslim visitors can therefore ask to be guided to the closest one when needed.
Finding Halal food in the city of Salzburg will not prove to be much of a problem. Since the city is home to a sizeable number of Muslims, there are quite a few Halal restaurants located throughout. Muslim tourists can therefore ask locals to guide them to the best Halal restaurants nearby, or they could get more information regarding this at one of the city’s mosques. It is also important to remember that some restaurants are only partially Halal.
