One of the top must-visit attractions when in Salzburg with family is Hellbrunn Palace, or Schloss Hellbrunn Castle. Located just about four kilometres from the Old Town of Salzburg, Hellbrunn Castle is a famous early Baroque summer palace that is most popular for its magnificent gardens. This architectural jewel has much to see and do and is thus a retreat for locals and foreigners alike. Visitors will come across stunning architecture, magnificent ballrooms and a huge garden that is home to a variety of rare plants and insects, greenery as far as the eye can see, and highly unique water features. Found in every corner of the palace, delighting visitors, young and old; these water features; like the Mechanical Theatre, include trick fountains, hidden jets and water-powered figures. Also found here is the pavilion from the famous movie, the Sound of Music, which is on every visitor’s itinerary, as well as Europe’s oldest open-air theatre - the Steintheater. The garden at Hellbrunn Palace is also great for those just looking to relax and unwind, as well as for those looking to spend some time being active outdoors.

While Muslims visiting Hellbrunn Palace will not be able to find prayer facilities within its premises, there are quite a few mosques in the city of Salzburg, such as the Salzburg Moschee, the Islamic Cultural Association in Salzburg, Krems Moschee and Türkischer Kulturverein Selimiye. Muslim visitors will also be able to locate a secluded area in the attraction’s extensive garden, to offer their prayers.
It is unclear if Hellbrunn Palace houses a café. Tourists will however be able to find plenty of dining establishments in the city of Salzburg. Due to the sizeable Muslim population in the city, there are also quite a number of Halal restaurants, some of which are partially Halal and others that serve completely Halal meals.
