Located 28 kilometres from the Bai Chay port in Ha Long city, Dau Be Island is a popular tourist destination amongst those exploring the Ha Long Bay by boat or cruise tours. Since most tourists visiting Ha Long city uses it as their base, to explore the famous bay, Dau Be Island with its famous Ba Ham Lake, should be included in the list of destinations to visit. Home to lakes, grottoes, corals, plants and animals, Dau Be Island has much to offer its many visitors. While the caves on the island can be visited by a rowing boat during low tide, swimming and diving are the most popular activities to engage in while here. Visitors might even be lucky enough to spot a yellow haired monkey.

Although Muslim visitors will not find prayer facilities on Dau Be Island, they will definitely be able to locate a clean and quiet area on the island to offer their prayers. Since Ha long city and Dau Be Island are not known to house mosques, tourists requiring prayer facilities and unable to find a secluded place outdoors, will have to return to their hotel rooms at prayer times.
Locating Halal restaurants in Dau Be Island will not be possible; however tourists visiting the island as part of a cruise or boat tour will be able to indulge in a seafood meal that is usually provided in the tour package. Muslim tourists may have to inform the tour group of their specific requirements of Halal cuisine and ensure the given seafood meal does not contain any non-Halal ingredients.
