A trip to Piraeus is not complete without a visit to at least one of its several beaches. These excellent beaches are scattered throughout the city of Piraeus and all offer good facilities. Located on the southern coast of the peninsula of Piraeus, between Tourkolimano and Pashalimani is the Votsalakia Beach, or the ‘Little Pebbles’ Beach. Said to be one of the very best beaches in Piraeus, Votsalakia Beach offers a variety of things to do and see. The fine, sandy beach is not only great for those looking to relax and unwind and enjoy the view; it also makes a fantastic destination for visitors looking for some activity, as the sparkling water is generally calm and great for swimming. There are also tennis courts found here, as well as one for volleyball, a swimming pool and more.

The beautiful surroundings
Although Muslim tourists will not be able to find prayer facilities at Votsalakia Beach, they may be able to find a clean and quiet place on the beach to offer their prayers. If unable to do so, they can make use of the one known mosque in the city of Piraeus, Masjid al-Andalus.
Finding restaurants and cafés at Votsalakia Beach will not prove to be a problem at all. Since the area is famous for its fresh fish, many of these sea front restaurants will have seafood dishes on their menu. Muslim tourists can therefore dine on these dishes after making sure they only consist of Halal ingredients.
