Located about 2 miles from Cat Ba town, is the beautiful Monkey Island. This private island is home to a number of monkeys which were brought to the island to attract tourists. While the monkeys do draw in tourists, the highlight of the island is its beach. Said to be home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Cat Ba Island, Monkey Island offers so much to do and see, thus making it a must-visit for families. Also located here is the 29 room Cat Ba Monkey Island Resort. Tourists can therefore either stay at the resort and explore the island, or they can visit the island for a few hours and enjoy the emerald water and the number of water activities available. For spectacular views of Lan Ha bay, visitors can climb up the mountain surrounding the beach.

Finding prayer facilities on Monkey Island will not be possible. Those staying at the resort can however easily return to their rooms at prayer times, while those visiting for a few hours may find it possible to locate a secluded area on the beach to offer their prayers. There are also no known mosques in Cat Ba town.
As mentioned above, Monkey Island is home to a resort, at which tourists will be able to dine. While this establishment will not have Halal certified food, Muslim tourists are sure to find seafood and vegetarian dishes on the menu. Those visiting the island could also bring along a picnic to enjoy on the beach.
