A trip to Ninh Binh is definitely not complete without a visit to the Cuc Phuong National Park. Established in 1962, Cuc Phuong National Park covers an area of 25,000 hectares, and is the oldest national park in Vietnam, as well as one of the most impressive. This well-preserved rainforest is home to a variety of flora, a wide range of different animal, bird and reptile species; including rare ones, limestone mountains, and numerous picturesque caves, the most popular of which is the Ancient Man Cave in which prehistoric humans lived and where stone tools were found. For those interested in seeing the numerous types of nocturnal animals found at the park, there are night tours, and camping overnight is also possible. For animal lovers, there is an Endangered Primates Rescue Center near the entrance of the national park that is home to a variety of animal species, some of which are injured and others that are being prepared to be released back into the wild. Although there are plenty of ways to explore the national park, the best way is to wander around on foot or to slowly cycle around.

While Muslims visiting the Cuc Phuong National Park will not be able to find prayer facilities at the attraction, they will definitely be able to locate a secluded area within the park to offer their prayers. There is a mini hotel located towards the entrance of the park, for those looking for a more convenient place to pray.

Halal Food

Visitors to the Cuc Phuong National Park will be able to find a few restaurants at the entrance of the park. These food outlets will however not be Halal certified, which means that Muslim tourists will have to be careful with what they order, since most Vietnamese dishes consist of non-Halal ingredients. There are also picnic tables available within the park, for those who chose to take along some snacks.
