Description

The Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the main airport of Guangzhou, the capital of the province of Guangdong in the China. It is located 28 kilometers from Guangzhou city center and covers an area of 15 square kilometers. There is only one main terminal hall and two concourses, Concourse A and B, as well as two runways.

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is the main hub of China Southern Airlines and a focus city for Shenzhen Airlines.

There are no prayer rooms at the airport, however, there are many mosques that are quite close. The closest is the Huaisheng Mosque, which is 8 kilometers away. Another close mosque is the Xiaodongying Mosque.

Transport

Car hire facilities are available at the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. Travelers visiting the area for the first time can even hire cars with drivers so that they would experience more of the city.

The airport also provides a shuttle bus service. The first bus leaves at 5:40am from the airport to C.A., and the last bus leaves after the final arrival of the day. Buses depart every 30 minutes, however, during peak hours, they may depart the minute they are full. In addition for ease of transportation, Guangzhou Airport Express transports passengers to and from the airport. This service has been operating since the new airport came into use and is operated by the Airport Express Transportation Company of Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport.

Taxis are available from the taxi stand outside the terminal building. Taxis are significantly more expensive than the airport shuttle and the Airport Express, however, it is more convenient for those who want to get to their destinations quickly.

Shopping

There are many small shops and booths in the terminal building which make up the Concorde Long Shopping Center. Travelers can purchase over 5,000 categories of products such as leather items, cosmetics, fruits, clothes, toys, books, cigarettes, jewelry pieces and some local products. In addition, a mini grocery store is available on the second floor of the international departure hall.

Currently there are two banks in the terminal building. There are business centers with faxes, printers and computers on the first and third level of the terminal building to allow travelers full internet access, not to mention that the airport provides wireless Internet access service for those who have laptops and wireless LAN cards.

Travelers have a number of facilities at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. There are several childrenƒ??s play rooms in the departure hall and a baby changing room in the arrivals hall. Also, a first aid station is located at the arrivals hall on the first floor.

In addition, communication services are available. Travelers can make long distance phone calls from areas by the No. 3 gate on the first floor and inside the departure areas A and B on the 3rd floor of the terminal building. A post office is located to the left of gate No. 9, departure hall, 3/F, and is open from 9 am to 5 pm for travelers who require its services.

Special rooms are arranged for mothers and infants, as well as smoking rooms at the A and B departure areas on the third floor.
