Juan Santamaria International Airport is one of the international airport serving San Jose, Alajela, Heredia and Catago in Costa Rica. The airport is 40 minutes drive away from San Jose. It is also known in Spanish as Aeropuerto Internacional Juan Santamaria hence it's short form AIJS. The airport is named after San Juan a hero of Costa Rica who died defending the Americans back in the 1800's.
Ther airport is divided into 2 Terminals under one roof.
The Main Terminal [M]: All the major international flights leave from this Terminal.
The Sansa Terminal [S]: All the domestic flights leave from this Terminal.
There are totally 17 gates within the airport.

There is no known prayer room, or multifaith prayer room within the airport.
There is no known Halal food available within the airport. However there are some cafe's and food outlets where you can grab a sandwiches and refreshments.
There are buses available from out of the airport. But if you are not fluent in Spanish DO NOT attempt to figure out the bus system.
There are registered taxi's available from the airport exit that would take you to your destination.
You can also hire comfortable vans to take you to your destination.
There is a duty free shop within the airport after the immigration where you can shop at.
