Description

Singapore Airport has Halal Food and Prayer rooms for the convienience of the Muslim Travellers in each of the terminals. All Halal food eateries which display the Halal sign are certified Halal by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS),  the Halal certification authority of Singapore. The Airport prayer rooms are multi-faith and all of them provide proper wudu facilities.

The Singapore Changi Airport has been ranked in the Top 10 Halal Friendly Airports in non-OIC member countries by Crescentrating.

Safety, Security and Health

Arrival

All arriving, transit and departing passengers at Changi Airport are subject to temperature screening.

Passengers who are febrile or display respiratory symptoms will be referred to a doctor on duty.

Airport Staff

All airport staff entering the transit area will have to undergo temperature screening.

Staff who have a high temperature will be asked to consult a doctor immediately.

Wear a mask at all times

All passengers, aircrew and airport staff must wear a mask at all times at Changi Airport. In addition, all passengers and crew members must also wear a mask for the entire duration of flight for flights bound for or departing from Changi Airport.

Cleaning & Disinfecting

Changi Airport conducts frequent cleaning and disinfecting across its terminals and at Jewel Changi Airport.

High-contact areas across the airport such as door handles, water coolers, counter tops, baggage trolleys and lift buttons are cleaned and disinfected more frequently.

Frequent swab tests are conducted at these areas to ensure the efficacy of cleaning and disinfection.

Changi Airport has been conferred the SG Clean certification by Singapore’s National Environment Agency, which certifies sites with a raised level of cleanliness and public hygiene.

Extra protection

For an added layer of protection, frequently-touched surfaces such as automated check-in kiosks, trolleys, lift buttons and security trays are coated with a protective antimicrobial coating to reduce the risk of virus transmission.

Autonomous cleaning equipment are deployed throughout the airport cleaning and disinfecting the floors and carpets at Changi Airport daily.

Hand sanitisers are available for use across all terminals and Jewel Changi Airport, from check-in rows to gate hold rooms.

Terminals

Changi has four terminals, numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4. Most airlines, especially low-cost carriers, use Terminal 1. Singapore Airlines flights depart from Terminal 2 or 3, depending on the destination. Terminal 4 (Jewel Changi) is the latest addition to the terminals at Changi Airport.

Skytrain

Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are connected by a complimentary Skytrain service in both the transit and public areas. Operating hours: 6:00 AM—12:00 AM.

On Foot

Terminals 1 and 3 are connected via the Jewel link bridges at the public areas and within the Departure Transit areas.

Prayer Facilities

Prayer rooms are available in all the Terminals (1, 2 and 3) within the Transit areas. Although they are multi-faith prayer rooms, they cater to the requirements of Salaath with wudu facilities and male and female prayer areas.

The directions to the prayer rooms are clearly marked. If you are unable to find them, please ask the staff at the airport.

It is better to perform Salaath in the airport prayer rooms at the transit area before leaving immigration, as the nearest Masjid is a few kilometres away. Changi airport does not have prayer rooms in public areas.
