Sydney lies on the south-east coast of Australia and is the state capital of New South Wales. It was previously inhabited by indigenous Australians for at least 30,000 year but its current inhabitants comprise of cosmopolitan and international population. Sydney is a popular tourist destination due to its mild winters and warm summers. Because of its large international population, which includes Indians and Middle Easterners, Sydney is definitely Halal friendly and the ideal destination for Muslim travelers.

The city is home to a wide variety of globally known attractions including the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Sydney Opera House is famous for its very unique, prominent architecture. It is a performing arts centre that is located in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is among the busiest performing arts centres in the world and has been listed as one of the most distinctive buildings of the 20th century. It also became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in June 2007.

Sydney is also known for its spectacular natural beauty and its historic forts and bunkers, of which many are now heritage listed. Sydney is home to Bondi Beach which attracts millions of tourists each year for its spectacular views of the beach and surroundings. Apart from Bondi Beach, Sydney also has several other prominent & popular beaches.

The shopping attractions in Sydney are numerous and varied. There are several malls as well as smaller boutiques all around the city. Shopping streets like Oxford Street and Crown Street to name a few are very popular with tourists and are well known for the vintage goods they offer.

Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport is an international airport located 8km south of the city centre. It is the only major airport in Sydney and is also the busiest airport in Australia. It is easily accessible by rail, shuttle bus, bus and road.

There are several certified Halal restaurants in Sydney, due to its significant Muslim population. Muslim tourists will be able to get more information from the hotel information desk or if you are looking for vegetarian food, there are several Indian restaurants that will cater to your requests.
