Turku is located on the southwest coast of Finland and was the first capital of Finland from 1802 to 1812. Till date the city holds its charm and is an important business and cultural center in Northern Europe. The central market square in the city is the hub of all activity. One can see locals and foreigners flocking to the market square for socializing and enjoyment. The city finds location at the starting of River Aura and hence there are several opportunities of sightseeing and enjoyment.

The city is home to several museums and art galleries. The Luostarinmäki, Turku Art Museum, Wäinö Aaltonen Museum of Art and the Forum Marinum and Suomen Joutsen are jjust a few good museums to name. The Flowpark is a newly established climbing park located in the Skanssi shopping center. The JukuPark is a huge outdoor water park located about 3km from Turku.

Turku also offers an exciting shopping scenario. There are several excellent shopping centers in the city where visitors can have fun and also shop. Some good shopping centers are Hansa Shopping Centre, Skanssi Shopping Center, Turku Treasure, etc. The Länsikeskus district and Turun Kauppahalli also are good places for shopping.

Turku is served by the Turku Airport which is about 8km from the city center. The airport caters to domestic as well as international flights. There is a regular bus service that connects the airport to the market square in the city. A bus ticket costs around 3 Euros.
