Located in Berlin, on the northern tip of the Spree Island is a museum complex called Museum Island. The site of five world-renowned museums, Museum Island is one of the most popular attractions in Berlin. Added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1999, Museum Island is a cultural and architectural monument of great significance and is well worth a visit when in the city. The Altes Museum, the Neues Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie, the Bode Museum and the Pergamon Museum are all located here. Out of the five, the Pergamon Museum is said to be the most visited museum in Berlin; with over a million visitors a year. The Bode Museum is also quite popular, and is known to house a fantastic collection of sculptures and treasures.
